Do you want the most features? the best reading experience? Comic Zeal 9 has them both. It was the first comic reader in the App Store, it’s still the best.

• Organize your collection how YOU want. Put series inside series, use dividers to manage long lists.
• Automatically sorts comics into their series.
• Super fast reading view with two-page mode and assisted panning.
• Page position lock so you don’t see the same borders page after page.
• Does the right thing when you rotate your device, many comics have a mixture of portrait and landscape pages.
• Lightning fast search, by comic title and tags.
• Parental lock for individual series.

IN APP PURCHASES

For a very reasonable price you can also unlock
• Comic Finders, create smart series that show you unread comics from all over your library.
• Seven new, gorgeous themes.

COMIC IMPORT

• WI-Fi using a web browser on a PC or Mac.
• Drop Box, iCloud Drive, etc using iOS document sharing.
• AirDrop from a Mac.
• iTunes via USB or Wi-FI

THE SLIDER

Comic Zeal features the innovative slider, its a pointer, a container and a toolbox, all in one. You can push stuff into it, then go anywhere in your collection and drag it out. Its an incredibly fast way to organize your comics.

With the slider you can:

• Reorder comics, put them into the slider in the order you want them, then drag them out.
• Create reading lists (by making copies of comics that dont take up any space on your device)
• Create series and dividers right in the app. Dividers are lists that can hold comics, series and even other dividers.

TIPS

• Tap the ‘i’ info icon for comics, series and dividers. You can rename entries, sort a series or mark items as read or unread.
• When zooming, hold the gesture for half a second. Comic Zeal will lock that zoom and position when you turn the page, its a great way to hide borders.

Please note, there is a problem with Google Drive’s iOS extension that doesn’t allow you to open comic and other files that they consider to be ’non-standard’. You can read more about it here: https://goo.gl/EKVRbN and here https://goo.gl/XXYRQI . You can open Comics from the Google Drive app itself using the Open in ... option, just not directly from Comic Zeal.

Pros and cons of Comic Zeal Comic Book Reader app for iPhone and iPad

Comic Zeal Comic Book Reader app good for

This app is doing what we are expecting from and is doing it right :)
Lots or improvements since the last time I have checked the app. I cannot make some pros and cons, but overall the reading feels very smooth and full of nice features. Contrats!
The best reader. You can read western or manga. You can easily organize your comics using the genious slider. The interface is beautiful and the app works smoothly. It has a key feature: It keeps the zoom level youre using even when you turn to a new page. Excellent app.
Comic Zeal have a easy access, an AMAZING and EASY mechanic for comic organization. Couldnt suggest another app!
Even improved with automatic zoom mode and so: Still the best!!
What have you done to the app icon? I definitely preferred the old one. Other than that, the new version is amazing. Havent tested the new on air stuff feature yet though

Some bad moments

You say Box wont allow connections from any account who doesnt have the enterprise level. Why does my non-enterprise box account just work on other readers like Chunky, then? Its a shame that a free app works better than yours...
The only things I liked about this app were the ability to mark that some comics are manga (flip pages on reverse order) and the overall UI look and feel. The app is quite hard to use at all, It took me some time to understand how to create a series box. Id rather expect something like on Pages, which is more intuitive and easy to handle. Plus, demanding an external app to upload comics through wi-fi is quite counterproductive (Id use another app which allow me to do the same using WebDAV). I also like to move the comics from my computer to the iPad to read and this app just breaks zip files extracted into folders, which makes me have to download the files again for the ones I want to save. Turning pages also dont feel natural at all; it looks like were dealing with a magazine in which only one face of the page is printed. If you have a magazine with a two-page add, for example, youll see what I mean. If you want a better app, take a look at ComicFlow (before anyone says, no, Im not related to it in anyway; Im just another user). Its far from being perfect, but I think it does the job a little better.
New layout for iOS 7 lost many advantages CZ used to have. I want all box view back, I want to see all my collections at once. New way makes no difference between list view and the other!!
The new version (ios7) is very, very unstable, and keeps crashing all the time. It used to be THE best comic app, and they need to fix this asap...
The app has an unusual interface that ultimately is no better than the standard iOS way of doing things, but *is* confusing. The big problem with this app is that it offers almost no options for importing comics. Its iTunes or the devs website. No Dropbox, no WebDAV, no SFTP. The only way to get comics into the app when youre not tethered to iTunes (and who is these days?) is to download them with an app that does understand how to import data and open them one by one with ComicZeal.
Crashes on many if not all PDF comic books for no apparent reason (other than poor coding…) Hoping this will improve, Id like to keep all of my comic books in place (which supposedly is the purpose of a comic book app)...

Usually Comic Zeal Comic Book Reader iOS app used & searched for
